The Gobi desert as we rode the Silk Road train to Hami
When we were leaving Hami for the eclipse site, there was an explosion and fire near the Hami train station.
Six of us (Landon Curt Noll, Judith Shanks, Judi Liang, Claudio DeSanti, Mel Pleasant, James Pleasant) left the tour at Hami to visit friends near the eclipse site. We stuffed all of our eclipse gear (half of which was the Carter Roberts Vulcanoid Search Platform experiment) into a small van. There was barely enough room left over for us!
